Ryan Tilneys Author study blog

I chose the author James Patterson. I chose this author because his books can really draw me in. I have a hard time getting into what I'm reading, but this style of writing draws me in.  Also I like what he writes about, it's very action suspense.

I'm interested in knowing how James knows so much about the police force. If he was ever a member of the force or has family on the force. I also wonder how long it takes to find out the information on his topics, in this case kid napping's.  I also ponder the fact the he could pull some of  his story ideas from the media, and other times I wonder if his sick mind flows on the page with a darkness darker then the ink itself in which he writes.

  1. Mike Bennett has 10 children also living with him is his father who is an elder man and his nanny for the kids Mary Catherine. In the story a woman by the name of Emily comes from the FBI to help Mike find who has been kidnapping and killing these children. Emily is a beautiful blonde who is very witty and takes her job very seriously. She is also a mother of one and misses her daughter a lot. She often calls her brother who is taking care of her daughter while she is out of town. Emily is no longer with her daughters father because one day he just up and decided that he was going to go start his own business in California.
Emily comes over for dinner one night because Mike has the hots for her. She is shocked when she walked in his apartment to find 10 children of all different races. Mike then goes on to tell her how him and his wife adopted them. Emily thinks that Mary is Mikes wife and he just laughs and is like that’s not my wife that’s the nanny. Trying to make it as obvious as possible that he was single. Mary became very upset about it and went storming off to her room when she was done with the dishes.
I think that Mary plays a huge part in mikes life and she likes him a lot, but of course he’s a dumb guy how is he supposed to know? I don’t know if Mary is going to come to between mike and Emily or not, only time will tell.

  2. I like the way James Pattersons develops his charters. He really brings them to life with the way he discribes them. he also does this by giving everyone there own personality and i can really just feel their emotion when i read. i feel as tho he bases his charters of people he met in real life.
i feel i can really connect with some of his children. because as a boy i didnt have a father and mike is never around for his kids. I look to James Pattersoon a father figure a man who really understands me. James tought me how to ride my first bike and played catch with me in the park.Heck i wont lie he showed me how to shave. James is one solid guy. He has yet to talk to me about the birds and the bees, but by golly i just can't wait.

  3. When James Patterson writes it is very descriptive. Every word that he uses really helps brings his characters to life. I'm not sure if his writing is structured in any different way. I'm pretty sure his style of writing is just that he writes.
I feel as though James Patterson books are very intense. He finds ways to build these characters up to make you believe they're real people with real emotion and feeling. Also his books are very action/suspense so it just builds and builds till get to the point where your just like, well, what happens next?!?! he really keeps you intrigued and guessing as to what will happen next.

  4. for my author study visual i think im just gonna bust it out try my best to think of something creative and fun. i wanna impress my father james. maybe after doing this project he will come home, after 10 long years of him being gone maybe now he will finally accept me for who i am. i rember the night james left he told me to wake him up at 4:30 in the morning. i set my alarm for 3 cause he never asked me to do something like this before. when i woke him he smiled, he never smiled at me before. he then got up had his bags packed and left never to return. his last words to me were "son, one day we will meet again and then you will understand why i have to go." i sat at the door for months waiting for his return. no food, no water, no watching cops at 4:30 just me and the memories of good old James.
im learning to smelt metal right now so i can make him a locket. now that my father james has remarried id like him to have some way to remember me. james has taught me alot of things. so much that i still dont know what to type about.

  5. the Author study thing i think is boring. i don't enjoy reading THAT MIGHT BE WHY, but as far as school goes its an alright idea. not everyone did the same author, but andy and i did so it was cool to talk with him about the stories.

I only learned about the actual author when i did the final project. i feel like we should of started research sooner. organizational skills it taught me none cause i'm a very orderly person just ask Lanette Lebo about my room. she will tell you i run a very tidy ship.
