Block 1 Author Study

I didn't pick the book because the author I was not very familiar with the author but the title of the book caught my attention. I thought of a few questions I would like to ask this author. One of the questions is does this book reflect her life its a very interesting story so I would be very interested in seeing if parts of this reflect her life. Another question would be why did things happen exactly the way they did in the story what made her make these things happen. Lastly where did the topic come from was it just a thought that came to mind were some of the events things that really happened? I am curious to find out if the book reflect her life.

So far the book is interesting and really keeping my attention. There are different things happening all the time and that is what i enjoy to read. Its a really big love triangle as well and i was not expecting that at all in the beginning of the book. Olivias friend Sally died in a car accident. Olivia met up with Sallys husband multiple times to talk about Sallys life. Now im at the point in the story where Olivia is hooking up with Sallys husband and doesn't know what to do with herself now that it happened. Its really keeping my attention to see what happens next. Olivia has also met Sallys daughter as well and she does not act normal in the story she does not really want anything to do with Olivia she goes to Olivias friend more the she does her. The whole thing is very messed up and confusing. But im waiting to find out why Sally really died because theirs a lot of confusion about how it happened and if maybe she committed suicide.

Eleanor Moran writes very descriptive, she tells you things like what someone is wearing to what kind of body shape they have. She chooses certain words to get her point across. For example she was talking about some girl she saw that she did not really like and the way she described her it made you not want to like her either. She talks in first person mostly the entire book sometimes other people will talk but not very often its mostly all in her perspective. There is a lot of dialogue between Olivia and sallys husband and daughter. This contributes to the mood set in the story. It shows you how everyone is feeling through the dialogue and it is very interesting.

I plan on doing a prezi. This is the best way to show my thoughts. Im doing my project on her target audience. And the audience is mostly younger people but can be for anyone. Its about friendships and relationships. Im going to look at a lot of different reviews and write about each of them on my prezi and my thoughts on them and if I agree or disagree. I had a hard time finding sources but I found a few that answer my question as much as they can.

This project helped me pick apart the reader and learn how to do that. It makes you have to talk about your book and learn more about others. It also makes you have to look deeper into a author and learn a lot of different interesting things about the author. Also, makes you put all of your thoughts on paper and get your ideas straight.

You have successfully found the spot where we will post our reflections for the Author Study. When occasion warrants it, you will respond to specific prompts about your author and/or his writing as required by the teacher. At other times you will share any of your own current insights regarding your author and his books. Here is some additional information to help you get started:

1. Follow Mrs. Byma's instructions regarding being invited to be an author on our blog .

2. Once you've accepted the e-mail invitation to be an author on our blog, click on "New Post" to set up your own personal section of the blog.

3. Title your post with a title that includes your first name, last initial, and the words "Author Study" as well as the first and last name of the author you have chosen to focus upon for the assignment. For example, you might title your post "Joe B's Author Study on Charles Dickens." Then proceed by typing a clear concise discussion of your topic in a manner that expresses your ideas and also invites your peers to comment on your thoughts.

4. Always return to your initial post to add new Author Study reflections to the blog on future occasions. Click on the "comment" button at the bottom of your first post to open a text box for your new ideas. Doing so will allow you to keep all of your Author Study ideas together in a streaming commentary.

5. If Mrs. Byma tells you to write in response to a specific prompt she provides for you on a given day, be sure to thoroughly address the required content before moving on to other insights about your author and/or his writing.

6. Feel free to respond to peer comments on your post at any time by simply clicking on the "comment" button and typing.

7. In order to earn the 20 points available for each assigned reflection, be sure to write at least two focused paragraphs that fully address the prompt (if one is provided) or that provide an in-depth discussion of your latest insights regarding your author and/or his writing instead. In addition, reflections must contain minimal errors in grammar and mechanics. Please proofread before you publish!
