Brennans author study Gordon Korman

I chose Gordan Korman because I read one of his books already and I thought it was really good. He is a fan of "The Great Gatsby" and he wrote a book kind of similar to it but a modern day version of Gatsby. I saw that he has written books on sports which I like especially about football. The way that he writes stories its smart almost like you have to read between the lines at times.

I would like to know his opinion on "The Great Gatsby." He usually involves football in some of his books makes me kind of wonder if he ever truly played because the way he tells his stories in detail. My question I would ask is, "Who was the eyes of god in Jake Reinvented suppose to portray?" Another question I would ask if he would make another book like Jake Reinvented?

  1. I would like to pick Jake Garret who is suppose to be Gatsby in this book Jake, Reinvented. In this book it describes him as almost like he was ripped off of a J.Crew or Banana Republic catalog. He has a personality about him that catches your attention and makes you feel good in side. Jake Garret he has a thing he says to everyone "Hey Baby" or "Cool Baby" something similar to Gatsby's "Old Sport". He is a really smart guy he makes money off writing College students papers. This guy is even the long snapper on the football team he trained so much to just to perfect it. I would say he is a perfectionist. I think what i can relate with Jake is that I like to dress nice I like J. Crew and Banana Republic. I feel like I connect with him because I realize what love can do to a person by the way he treats a girl and how he felt he would do anything for the person he loves. He is really significant to this storyline because he is the main guy that plays the Gatsby role in this book and it shows all the things hes done for this one girl that didn't even have his back in a life situation.

  2. I have finished Jake, Reinvented by Gordan Korman. It was my second time reading the book but it still shocked me and I took what I already know to get a better understanding of the book the second time. I still think its a great book to read I would recommend this book to anyone. The ending is still shocking to me that love can change someone and make them to crazy things even if its not good for you. The listen is the book is just like "The Great Gatsby", that you can not repeat the past and no matter how much he saw the girl he loved the same way as before, but in reality it wasn't ever going to be the same.

  3. I want to try to compare the first book with the Great Gatsby showing who each person portrays each other in each of the books. I plan to look on his website and get a background on when he wrote the story's. He gives details on why and when he wrote the story and how he had got the idea. Gordan Korman likes to go into detail in jake reinvented.
I find it easier to find a visual because of the way he describes his characters when he writes a book. I would like to kind of make what my visual of the characters that I think he means. The more he describes his characters the easier it will be.

  4. The Pros and the cons of the author study project. The pros was that it wasn't that time consuming and you got to do more research on the author you chose. I think the cons was having to remember all the books you read and comparing them.

It helped me understand the different reading styles there are. This encourage me to communicate with other readers by learning about some of their authors. It helped me learn more about one author because my main focus was on the author I chose on my own and I did the research exactly on my author. This helped learned how to organize when I worked on my brochure for the project.
